Easter

For Easter this year, we were unsure whether we'd be able to head to Indiana for the weekend due to the stomach flu.  Luckily, we all pulled it together and were well enough to make the trip.

The Easter Bunny left the kids' baskets right as we were walking out the door to leave on Friday….
The kids got to play games with their cousins on Friday and Saturday….

They decorated Easter bags and painted Easter chicks/eggs.  We then had an Easter egg hunt….
After lunch at the Lindvalls' on Saturday, we went over to my parent's house and had another Easter egg hunt….

On Sunday morning, we went to church, found Easter baskets, let the kids play, ate lunch and then went back home.
Connor was upset that he had to dress up and also that he had to wear a pink shirt.  Luckily, Daddy stepped in and said he'd wear the same outfit!!  It wasn't easy, but we found them matching shirts and ties!

8 Months Old

Emery turned 8 months old on Easter!  She is so much fun and currently getting into anything she can!

Emery continues to take 2 naps a day….one in the morning around 9:00 or 9:30 and the second one around 1:30/1:45.  She still goes to bed at night around 7:00 and has been sleeping until 6:30-7:30 in the morning!  She sleeps with about 6 pacifiers and is always holding on to them….I'm not sure how we're going to take them away!

We are slowly changing her schedule…..we're adding breakfast and taking away her mid-afternoon bottle.  She loves food and rarely refuses anything.  She had her first taste of ice cream (and she won't be getting anymore anytime soon) on our way back from Easter to try and calm her down and entertain her on the drive back.  It worked for a good 10 minutes and then she was back to crying.  She has done a great job drinking water out of her sippy cup, but has not been a big fan of drinking her milk out of it. As of last month (month 7), she stopped nursing on her own, but is still getting all breastmilk from a bottle.

Emery loves getting into her siblings' toys.  She isn't exactly crawling quite yet, but she is able to get where she wants to go.  She will get up on all 4's, rock back and forth, lunge forward and do it all again until she gets what she wants.  She is into everything and grabbing at anything she can get.  Emery loves when we sing to her.  She loves listening to the music in church and will often start yelling/singing loudly when the music comes on.

Connor continues to be her best buddy!  He makes her laugh all the time and she is constantly squealing and laughing at him.  She is occasionally giving us kisses, doing "how big," and "peek-a-boo."  Baths are still her favorite time of the day and she often starts squealing when she hears the water going.

We hit a huge milestone this past weekend…..she enjoyed being around my parents!  And she went to 3 different friends without shedding a tear!  This is huge!!

Emery, you are such a sweet, sweet girl!  Happy 8 months!!

Spring Break 2015

I was really excited for the kids' spring break this year.

We started out the week on Saturday morning by completing the tutu princess 5k and princess dash.
Elli begged to run in the princess dash, so we decided to let her since some of her friends were also running in it.  She had so much fun and I know she's looking forward to doing more!
My friends and I ran in the 5k before the princess dash.  It was 18 degrees while we were running and freezing!  We finished with a good time and ran the 3.1 miles in about 25 minutes and 30ish seconds.  We were happy with our time….especially considering it was so cold out!  I'm currently registered for a 10k in about a week and a half and am looking forward to running it!
Later that evening we took my grandparents out to dinner at an amish restaurant close to their house.
When we got home, the kids and Scott had a camp out in our basement.  Yes, the huge tent was set up in our basement.

On Monday, we went to the mall to the new play place and then went out for lunch at chick-fil-a.
Matching sisters….Emery got this dress for Christmas and Elli had already had hers.  They are different colors, but look the same in this photo).
Playing at the new play place in the mall!
Elli helped me make dinner while the other two were napping.
On Tuesday, we went to Recreation Outlet to play.  It had been awhile since we had been there and the kids absolutely loved it!
This was the first time Emery had been in a swing by herself!  She loved it!!
Connor pushing her in the swing….
On Wednesday, Connor got a haircut and then things went quickly down hill.  He ended up getting a stomach bug and was sick the rest of the day.  We managed to grab a quick dinner at Easton that evening, but cut it short, as he had started running a fever.  And I ended up getting sick on Thursday….so the plan for the rest of the week were shot!  Despite getting sick, we had a great few days and I'm so excited for school to be out and summer to be here!

7 months old

Emery is 7 months old (and quickly approaching 8 months)!  She still continues to be sweet as can be!  We are having so much fun with her and loving this stage!

Emery loves solid foods and is willing to try most things!  We've started introducing some table foods to her.  So far she has tried: avocado, mac and cheese, bread, cheerios, greek yogurt, green beans, and banana.  She hasn't shown as much interest in milk, so we've had to be somewhat creative in getting all her ounces down her (we're pretty sure her teeth are bothering her).  Emery is taking a sippy cup pretty well with water in it.

Emery's 2nd tooth just popped through her gums!  We're hoping this will lead to more sleep at night; however, I'm not getting my hopes up!  Emery hasn't slept through the night since in a few weeks.  In fact, her sleeping has been pretty rough!  She's been waking up multiple times during the night and we've occasionally had difficulty getting her back to sleep.  She still goes to bed at 7:00, but everything else continues to be inconsistent.  Naps are also not extremely consistent.  We have days where she sleeps a total of 2 hours a day and other days she sleeps a total of 4 hours!

Emery is into everything!  She is constantly grabbing for everything that comes in front of her.  She successfully can feed herself puffs and etc…..she's been able to do this for the past 3ish weeks!  She is also rolling all over the place.  She is pulling her legs up under her and I fear (we're so not ready) crawling is near!  She loves to stand while we hold her and is always wiggling all around.

Emery is starting to give open mouth kisses, which are pretty irresistible.  She also started playing peek-a-boo as of this past weekend.  It's probably the cutest thing I've ever seen when she puts the blanket over her head.  She will also occasionally pat us on the back when we pick her up!

She is sweet and her smile is contagious!  Emery's still not a huge fan of people or dogs.  She is shy and when someone comes up to talk to her she will usually smile and then bury her head (also extremely cute).  She still loves bath time and well often squeal or start laughing when she hears the water run!!

Happy 7 months, sweet girl!!
