Birthday Boy

We hadn't originally planned to be in Indiana for Scott's birthday; however, due to some circumstances, we ended up there.  My mom outdid herself and pulled together not 1, but 2 birthday celebrations for Scott.  My mom made his favorite cake (chocolate cake with chocolate icing) and got Mexican (his favorite type of food) for all of us on Saturday evening.  We celebrated quickly after spending much of Saturday looking at houses and we were trying to get 3 tired kids to bed.  We had a big breakfast on Sunday morning and then Scott went out for coffee with his brother.

We headed up north to visit my grandparents and see where they were staying.  Mom had a cake made for him and we celebrated with them.
My gift to Scott was dinner at St. Elmo's that evening.  We got engaged at St. Elmo's 10 years ago on July 16th and thought it'd be fun to head back there for his birthday!  Due to all that we have going on right now and feeling like we're just barely breathing, this was the best I could do!

You are patient, kind, caring, funny, loving, and giving.  You put our needs before yours and you are always offering help to others.  You work long hours, but come home each night excited to spend time with the kids.  I've never seen anyone work as hard as you and I'm so glad our kids are able to see your dedication to your job and also to us.  Happy Birthday….I hope you felt celebrated on your day!  (And thanks mom for planning and getting his cakes!)  Next year I'll be on my 'A game' when it comes to your birthday!!

11 months

Emery is officially 11 months old and I can't believe how big she is getting!  She is such a sweet little girl and loves to give hugs and kisses!

Emery loves her big brother and is constantly trying to play with him.  He also loves playing with her and can always get her to laugh.  She loves being around her siblings and has just recently started following them around.

Emery is crawling all over the place and pulling herself up.  She is starting to walk (slowly) while holding onto things.  She is able to crawl up the stairs and is into everything.

Emery is waving, signing 'more,' clapping, and dancing.  She is able to show where her tongue is and occasionally will show where her belly is.  She will also try and put on her clothes when you give them to her.  Emery loves playing peek-a-boo and singing!

She is a pretty good eater when she isn't getting teeth.  Emery is currently getting another tooth and has 7 so far.  Her favorite foods are: green beans, mac and cheese, hot dogs, blueberries, bananas, goldfish, veggie straws and peas.  She is not a big breakfast eater, but eats a decent lunch and dinner.  Emery is getting 16-18 ounces of breastmilk a day along with her 3 meals.

Emery continues to go to bed around 7 or 7:30.  She still takes 2 naps a day and loves sleeping with all her pacifiers!

Emery is so much fun and I can't believe that in just a few weeks we'll be celebrating her first birthday! Happy 11 months, sweet girl!

Safety City

At the beginning of June, Elli completed 2 weeks of Safety City through our town.  This is such an awesome program that Columbus offers to all incoming Kindergarten students.  She learned so much in those 2 weeks.  She learned about bike, bus, gun, stranger, fire, car safety and so much more.  After those 2 weeks, she was able to tell us our phone number, address and received an ID card with the city.  She is now fingerprinted and in the system :)  I can't say enough good things about this program and I'm so happy she was able to participate in it before she enters into school.

Getting ready for graduation….

Out of all those kids, Elli managed to be at the front for the program.  We were able to watch her sing and do all the motions for the songs she learned that week.
