Potty

Guess who went on the potty????

THIS GIRL....

3 Months Old

Connor is 3 months old today and growing like crazy! He continues to be such a sweet little guy, but getting him to sleep at night has been quite difficult. On any given night it might take us 3 to 4 attempts to get him to sleep....meaning...he passes out in his arms, is fast asleep in his crib, then we hear him wide awake not 5 minutes later. This happens over and over again. He doesn't have a consistent bedtime and goes to sleep anywhere between 8:30 and 10:30. Naps sometimes tend to be the same thing. I will be thrilled once Connor finally gets on a schedule!!!!

Connor is quite picky when it comes to his bottle temperature. He tends to like it pretty warm and usually won't take it unless the temperature is perfect! He is still sleeping through the night and eats every 2 to 3 hours throughout the day.

Connor gives us so many smiles each day! He just recently started giggling and still enjoys talking to us.

Lately, Connor has has been wanting to sit up (obviously with our help). Even when I put him in his blue seat, he tries to lean forward to sit up. He is spending more time in his bumbo these days!

Within the past couple weeks, Elli has really become a little mommy to Connor. She loves yelling "MORNING" (I put it in capital letters because she yells it) when we get him up from his nap. She enjoys putting his pacifier in his mouth; although, he really only takes it when he is ready to go to sleep. Elli also likes helping with his bottle. She always wants to help with diaper changes and cheers on Connor when he is trying to hold a toy. She is definitely enjoying him more each day and I love watching him smile at her- and especially love when she gives him kisses!

And here is our handsome little guy at 3 months old!!

He couldn't take his eyes of this dog when I put it next to him!

Busy Weekend

Last weekend, we traveled to Indy for Kensley's 2nd birthday, family pictures, and Sarah's baby shower. It was quite a busy weekend!

Elli and Kensley coloring before the party started (clearly it was a Mickey Mouse theme-notice Kensley's mouse ears?)

A picture of the 2 littlest party guests. Connor is catching up to Avery. Avery is about 2.5 months older than Connor.

Kensley tearing into her gifts

Enjoying some cupcakes

A hug for the birthday girl!

Trying to entertain the girls while we were waiting for pictures to start. The girls played pretty well together, but often wanted to play with the same toy.

Since we sent Elli home with 1 set of grandparents over fall break, we decided that we're going to send her home with the other set of grandparents next week for a few days....Kensley will also be at their house so they'll have plenty of time to play with each other. Elli has been talking about Kensley since we left Jeremy and Amber's house!

Connor in his picture outfit!

We kept the girls up a little later than normal because of daylight savings time hoping they would automatically get back on schedule. Sleeping in was wishful thinking and Elli woke up at 5 something in the morning (2 days in a row...thankfully we are back on schedule). We left Jeremy and Scott with the tired kids on Sunday while we all went to Sarah's baby shower. The shower was a success and Jeremy and Scott (Travis came over to help also) survived the afternoon! We left to come back to Ohio almost as soon as we got home from the shower. The ride home was amazing, as both kids slept! Overall it was great weekend despite the lack of sleep.

I can't imagine how chaotic next year at this time will be when we will have one 3 year old, one 2.5 year old and two 1 year olds all running around.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Kensley and baby shower, Sarah!! So happy we were able to celebrate with you!

Movie Night

We had our first movie night with the kids last night. We had been planning it for the last couple of days and Elli was super excited....
I didn't tell her until yesterday morning and she couldn't wait to watch "Snow White" and drink milkshakes!
(Saying "cheese" really loud and with great enthusiasm)
Milkshakes for all....except Bubba!
We blew up the air mattress for proper seating in the living room and for a little jumping action from Elli.

In the past year (well...more than a year), Scott and I have only been to 1 movie at the movie theater together. And yes, we miss the ability to just up and leave to go to the movies, out to dinner, etc. BUT I wouldn't miss this movie night for anything. This was way more fun than those things I just named. Can't wait for more movie nights with my kiddos.

12 weeks

12 weeks old and still so handsome....

This is a 3-6 month shirt....when did he get to be so big??
Trying so hard to roll over

Dancing

Remember how I said Elli loves Snow White? Well...here is some videos I took last night of her dancing. (I'm sure there is a way to rotate these videos to make them vertical, but I don't have enough time right now to figure that out :) )

Too early to talk about Santa??

I have no new pictures for this blog, but I needed to write about our conversation with Elli tonight so I could remember it. Elli is still speaking in 1 word utterances- hasn't yet mastered 2-3 word utterances; however, just recently she has begun to try and tell us stories. This past weekend my mom and Elli were talking about Santa and we got a mini toys r us catalog in the mail. So...we've been looking through it and Elli has been eyeing a walking dog that comes with a leash. Here was our kind of convo with Elli tonight.

Elli: "Dog" (while looking through the catalog), "Santa"
Me: "Oh yeah, Santa is going to bring a dog?"
Elli: "Yeah...me" (while pointing to herself)
Me: "Santa is going to bring you a dog."
Elli: "Santa." "Dog." "Me." "Santa." "Dog." "Woof...Woof"
Me: "What color dog is he going to bring you?"
Elli: "lellow" (aka yellow)

And then she said "Santa" and "Dog" all the way up the stairs. Sometimes I just can't get enough of her!

Looks like Santa might bring her a toy puppy....

Happy Halloween

Wow, three posts in one day....I'm on a roll. Get ready for a marathon of pictures...I figured I'd just put all our Halloween pictures in one post.

My parents brought over some Halloween tattoos for Elli, but we all ended up getting one. Elli was scared of the tattoos and in fact the Halloween concept as a whole....not sure where she picked it up from...daycare?? So....we all had to get tattoos to show Elli it wasn't scary. Connor even got one...

Bad to the bone
She of course liked it once we put it on her, but she didn't want another one once hers came off. My parents are to blame if she comes to me when she is older saying she wants one.

Papa then carved out a pumpkin for Elli...
Ok....so the truth is she was mainly playing in her kitchen while Dad was carving the pumpkin.

This year for Halloween, we had a Purdue football player and a Purdue cheerleader....

Yep, you guessed it....that is eyeliner on Bubba's face....hope he's not mad at me one day....it added so much to the costume.
Doing some cheers and getting pointers on cheering from Nana....

Elli was scared of this Halloween book at first, but we now read it at least 4 times a day....

Quarterback coach with the future quarterback
Time for trick or treating. Elli loved getting candy, but didn't like of some of the costumes she saw!! Lets just say Halloween might not be her favorite!

Cute Pictures

Just wanted to post some cute pictures I took today!

Elli playing in her kitchen wearing the new apron her Nana and Papa Brauchler brought her back from their travels.
Please notice her ponytail :) Her hair is growing so much these days!!
Trying to catch Connor smiling- unsuccessful!!

Pumpkin Patch Take 2

A week ago, Nana L., Papa L., Vander, and Dane came for a quick visit. Elli loves playing with her cousins and was thrilled to see them on Saturday morning. We ended up going to the pumpkin patch in the morning and then played around the house in the afternoon. We never made it to the pumpkins at the pumpkin patch, but played elsewhere...

Going down the giant slide....

Jumping, Jumping, and more Jumping

Elli had so much fun playing with her grandparents and cousins that we decided to send her home with them so she could have more time playing with them. While Elli was away, Connor and I had a lot of time to hang out. We cleaned out closets, ran errands, and cleaned some more. Connor also sat in the bumbo seat for the first time!

Such a big boy...
