Fall Parties/Last Day

The kids both had Fall parties on their last day of school in Ohio and were able to dress up.  Connor's school did a Halloween parade and Tin-Man led the class.

I was able to help out at Elli's fall party and let me just say I'm glad I'm not a Kindergarten teacher.  I could barely handle groups of 6!

Halloween

Despite our move, we were able to do multiple things for Halloween this year.

We dressed the kids up and took them to a Halloween event in Westerville.  It ended up being a bust and we bribed the kids to leave with the promise of picking up ice cream on the way home!
We then took the kids to trunk-or-treat at Connor's school!  It was awesome and there was so much for them to do!!

We took them trick or treating briefly the night before they left Ohio to go to Indiana.  It was a busy night, but I'm glad Scott and I were able to trick-or-treat with them!

Our friends came over after and Lexi and Emery were so sweet to each other.
My parents then took the kids trick-or-treating in Indiana while we moved into the apartment!

What a busy time, but the kids had a blast at each event!

Field Trips in Ohio

I was able to go with both Elli and Connor on their Field Trips back in October.  Both of their classes went to Hidden Creek Farms (on different days).  We took hay rides, picked out pumpkins, went down the big slide, played in corn, fed animals, and went through a maze.

Elli got to ride a bus to the farm and the parents met the students there.
Below is a picture of Kendyl (Elli's best friend) and Jackson, a boy that Elli has liked since the beginning of the school year.  He is apparently the class sweetheart and all the girls have crushes on him :)
 Elli's class….

Connor's field trip was a couple weeks after Elli's.

 Connor's class.

After the field trip, Connor and I went on a date out to lunch!

Kings Island

We made a quick trip to Kings Island over Labor Day this year.  I'm so thankful that all of our kids seem to love rides and roller coasters.  I'm not sure what Scott and I would do if they didn't….because we love them ourselves.  This was our 3rd year in a row going to Kings Island over Labor Day.

Our day ended earlier than expected, as Connor started to get sick….over and over again!

Wamsley Retreat

The first weekend of October, we headed to Fort Harrison State Park in Indiana for the Wamsley Retreat.  Four out of the five of us were a little under the weather, but we were able to make the trip in the midst of all the moving and had a good time.

Here are some pictures from the weekend.
Connor broke his leg 3 years ago on the slide below.
You'd think we would have learned our lesson and would not have taken Emery on it……..but she loved it!  We held her legs while going down the slide to avoid broken bones.

Goodbye Columbus :(

The past few months have been such a whirlwind for us and it is so hard to believe that our time here in Ohio is coming to an end.  We came here 10.5 years ago (for Scott & 9.5 years ago for me) not knowing a single person and are leaving with so many wonderful friends.  We had no clue what to expect and quickly came to love this city.  It hasn't always been easy, but it's been good.  There has been talk of Scott moving to Indianapolis with NetJets for 2 years.  The opportunity came up this past June and we took it.  I'm so proud of everything we've accomplished since we've been here.

This has been the hardest thing we have ever done.  And although it's been so hard, this move feels right.  There are not enough words to describe how much we've loved living here.  We consider so many of our friends here our family.  They know us….like really know us!  They aren't afraid to have tough conversations with us and they've been with us through everything.  They've been there when we've needed them, helped care for our kids, cried with us, laughed with us, prayed with us, and celebrated with us!  I can't even say enough about these people.  We've been surrounded by the best of the best for the past 9.5 (and 10.5) years.  We've shed so many tears over this move….Scott, me, and our friends!  We've had so many 'goodbye' dinners, lunches and get togethers planned for us over the past 4 months…they have made us feel so loved.
I could go on and on about this city!  There are so many things we will miss.  We will always be Buckeyes (yes…Scott too….he's turned into a fan) and this will always be home for us!  I'm looking forward to coming back in the future to visit….we will be back a few times before the end of the year.

Columbus….you have loved us so well and Indianapolis has some very, very big shoes to fill.             "O-H…..I-O"  So proud to be a Buckeye!!
