Emery & Connor's Birthday Party

We had a joint birthday party for Connor and Emery's birthdays this year on Emery's actual birthday.  Connor wanted Pokemon and Emery wanted Moana.  These two actually really like celebrating their birthday together....I'm not sure either of them would be willing to share their day with anyone other than each other.

We opened gifts, ate dinner & cake, and had a water balloon fight.

I'm not sure what is happening in the above picture.  Emery has on as many of her gifts as possible and was running on little sleep from the night before.  Ha!

Emery is 3

Emery is 3 years old (as of August 5th)!  She is changing and growing everyday!  She is in such a fun stage right now!

Emery is talking so much these days!  Her ability to communicate has really decreased her meltdowns because she can now tell us what she wants!  Her favorite word right now is 'why'....she asks the questions 'why' about every minute.

Emery loves all things princess and babies!  She always wants to hold babies that she sees and her favorite one is Baby Emmy.  She talks about Baby Emmy at least once if not twice a day.  She even has named her baby dolls 'Baby Emmy.'  Her favorite movie is currently Big Hero Six, but she also loves The Little Mermaid, Moana, and Frozen.
Connor continues to be her best friend.  They play so well together and she loves it when he comes home from school each day!
The above picture is Emery's last night as a 1 year old!  She tends to be a good sleeper, but lately has been getting out of bed once in the middle of the night.  Her naps have also not been as long.
Emery loves playing with the big kids and will often follow them around doing whatever they do.  She doesn't leave Elli and Connor's side the second they walk in the door from school.
Happy Belated 3rd birthday, Emery Rose!

Elli- 7.5 years old

Elli turned 7.5 years old on July 26th!!  It's crazy how old she is getting and I can't believe she's already in 2nd grade.

Elli loves all stuffed animals (and real animals), gymnastics, softball, and swimming.  She has recently started to enjoy shopping.  Her favorite store is by far Claire's and she loves to spend her time looking at all the different stuff in there.

This summer was interesting with her, as she had some trouble transitioning out of being in school to being home all day.  She showed us just how much attitude she could throw at us for the first couple weeks of summer.  Elli really does best with a routine and she's been absolutely perfect since she's started back at school (and honestly did much better as the summer went on).

Elli doesn't love math or reading, but really loves the social aspect of school.  She's developing really good relationships with the girls in her class!  A second grade girl moved in next door to us and she and Elli have really hit it off.  They always want to be together!!

Elli loves getting her nails done and takes forever to get ready in the morning.  She loves eating and is such a good eater.  The older she gets, the more timid she is when it comes to trying new things.  She will talk to just about anyone and talks nonstop at home.

Elli contines to be one of Elli's best friends.  They are opposite, but get a long really well. This is time right after their bible dedication at church.
Happy belated half birthday, Elli!

Geist

We have been searching for most of this summer for the perfect boat for our family.  We've had some come up, but they were either too far away or already spoken for.  Since we were able to find one in time to take it out over the summer, we rented one on Geist.  It was our first time on Geist and the kids had a blast.  We invited the Roberts family to come along with us.  We only had 2 hours and we used every second of those hours tubing and skiing the kids.

Dude Date, Springhill Camp, Good Neighbor Weekend

This summer, Scott took two days off to have a 'dude date' with Connor.  They golfed twice, went go-karting, played tennis and did laser tag.  They had a blast and Connor is now hooked on golfing (and driving the golf cart).

While they were doing their dude dates, Elli spent a week at Springhill camp at our church.  She was in class with her cousin and many other friends.  She had a blast!
We participated in Good Neighbor Weekend at our church this past summer.  We were in charge of helping mulch a school.  The kids were troopers and worked hard the whole time.  Connor did a great job mulching.  Elli was a big help with Emery!

Tooth fairy

I'm only blogging about this because I want to remember it.  Elli has been writing the tooth fairy letters whens she looses a tooth.  This was one of the ones that she wrote.  Unfortunately, the tooth fairy explained that so many people lost their teeth that night and she was only able to give her standard $1.  Another letter she wrote said 'Can you please give me a new toothbrush.  Please write back."

This girl is hard on the tooth fairy!

Connor's friend birthday party

Another mom and I decided to have a joint birthday party for our boys.  It just so happened to be on Scott's birthday.  Elli and Hudson's older sister helped us when all the boys arrived.  We had the party at the movie theater and went to see Despicable Me 3.  Scott and Hudson's dad joined us after the movie for pizza.
