HAPPY 5 WEEK BIRTHDAY ELLIANA!!!! I can't believe Elli is already 5 weeks old. Today Elli and I went to the dr. I'm learning that a simple errand or trip to the dr. takes approximately 2.5 hours to get ready, feed, change diapers etc. Elli's dr. thinks she looks great! She is still a tiny little thing, weighing 8 pounds 3 oz. and is 20 1/4 inches long. If I remember correctly, this is exactly how big Kensley was when she was born. She is in the 25th percentile for her height and 10-25th percentile for weight. We still have lots of growing! Of course, I'd love her to be closer to the 50th percentile, but the dr. didn't seem to be concerned at all. In my job, I give percentiles daily in regards to speech and language development! I think nothing of it when I tell parents..."He's in the 10th percentile, etc;" however, now I will! As a parent, you want your child to be as close to "average" as possible. He said for her size, she is developing just fine. Elli got another shot today and did GREAT! Obviously she hated it when it happend, but I was able to soothe her within a couple seconds! Such a good baby!! Lastly, we found out today that Elliana has acid reflux! This is probably why we've had so much trouble with eating and sleeping! The dr. completely encouraged having her sleep in her car seat (surprisingly we did something right as parents!!) and said he would put it in her crib when we're ready to transition her to sleeping in her room! The car seat keeps her more upright....this will help with the reflux!! She is getting ready to take her first dose of meds. tonight and I am anxious to see if this helps us all get a little more sleep!! Poor girl!!

Welcome beautiful Siena Madeline Swartz!! Our friends, Joe and Rachel, had a little girl this past Friday! Siena is exactly 1 month younger than Elli and is so sweet! Today, Elli and I went to visit the new family! Siena slept the whole time we were there (same as Elli) and is just a tad smaller than Elli! Siena is doing great and Elli is sooooo excited to have a new friend! I'm so excited to be going through this "new mom" experience with one of my friends! Elli and I are looking forward to hanging out with them while Scott and Joe are at work! It will be fun to see Siena and Elli grow up together!

Yes, that's exactly how big Kensley was when she was born! Looks like Elli is starting to fill out and has a little belly! Looking forward to seeing her next week!
